As we begin a new year, German book trade magazine Börsenblatt has released its list of Germany’s bestselling books in 2018. Familiar authors made the hardcover bestseller lists in 2018, including Sebastian Fitzek, Jojo Moyes, Nele Neuhaus, Peter Wohlleben, and Yuval Noah Harari.

Crime fiction remains a strong category, and there’s an increase in the number of German original titles on the fiction list compared to 2017. In nonfiction, politics and books addressing big questions about human life connected with German readers.
