Die American Library Association (ALA) hat eine Resolution verabschiedet, in der dafür gestimmt wird, Nachhaltigkeit in die Liste der Grundwerte des Bibliothekswesens aufzunehmen:
On Sunday, ALA Council voted to add /Sustainability/ to the Core Values of Librarianship (http://www.ala.org/advocacy/intfreedom/corevalues) list: /"The foundation of modern librarianship rests on an essential set of core values that define, inform, and guide our professional practice.
These values reflect the history and ongoing development of the profession and have been advanced, expanded, and refined by numerous policy statements of the American Library Association."/ This list is used to teach graduate students who are pursuing their Masters in Library & Information Science degrees as well as a foundational document that planning, strategic and institutional decisions are made against.
